Titanium Grade 1, 7, 9, 23 Filler Wires
Titanium Grade 1, Grade 7, Grade 9, and Grade 23 filler wires are welding consumables specifically designed for joining titanium alloys, each possessing unique properties suitable for different applications.
Titanium Grade 1 filler wires are commercially pure titanium and offer excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, and good weldability. They are the most ductile and softest among titanium grades, making them ideal for applications that require formability and ease of welding. Grade 1 filler wires find use in industries such as chemical processing, marine, and medical, where corrosion resistance and biocompatibility are essential.
Titanium Grade 7 filler wires are alloyed with palladium, which enhances their corrosion resistance, particularly in reducing environments. They offer excellent weldability and are well-suited for welding Grade 7 and Grade 16 base metals. These filler wires are commonly used in chemical and petrochemical applications due to their resistance to crevice corrosion and aggressive media.
Titanium Grade 23 filler wires, also known as Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Extra Low Interstitials), are alloyed with aluminum and vanadium, similar to Grade 9. However, Grade 23 has lower oxygen and iron content, providing enhanced ductility and fracture toughness.
